The manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge, distributed by SHUEISHA's JUMP COMICS, with 23 volumes and more than 150 million copies in print, served as the inspiration for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Ufotable produced the animation.
In order to turn his younger sister Nezuko back into a human when she transforms into a demon, Tanjiro Kamado, a kid whose family is slaughtered by a demon, joins the Demon Slayer Corps at the start of the narrative. The Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc of the TV anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba debuted in April 2019. The Mugen Train feature film and the Entertainment District and Mugen Train TV series arcs followed in October 2020 and 2021, respectively.
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village- World Tour began in February 2023 with a global theatrical release in 95 nations and territories. It is known that the Swordsmith Village Arc TV adaptation will start airing in April.
The narrative shifts to a new setting as Tanjiro's adventure takes him to the Swordsmith Village, where he meets up with two Hashira, the highest-ranking swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito. Tanjiro and his allies are forced to engage in a new war as the shadows of demons get closer.
