A Galaxy Next Door by Gido Amagakure Ends with an Epilogue

In 2020, a television show about a manga creator and his enigmatic assistant debuted.

The last chapter of the A Galaxy Next Door (Otonari ni Ginga) manga by Gido Amagakure was released on Saturday in the June edition of Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine. The publication also disclosed that its upcoming issue, which comes out on June 7, will include the manga's epilogue chapter.
In April 2020, Amagakure published the manga in Good! Afternoon. The first compiled book volume of the manga was released by Kodansha in November 2020, and the sixth and final volume will be released on July 6.

The manga was licensed by Kodansha USA Publishing, and on July 11 the fifth volume will be made available in English. The "heartwarming romantic comedy" is described as follows:
Ichiro, a manga artist, has struggled since his parents' passing, having to support his two younger brothers while just finishing middle school. He is stuck battling pen and paper because he doesn't even have time to learn how to use a computer. Ichiro felt on the verge of a nervous collapse after his art assistants left to start their own businesses in addition to balancing deadlines, family, and the ongoing worry about losing his job. But when a new assistant enters Ichiro's life, things start to look up for him right away! She's a fantastic artist, always gets everything done on schedule, and looks stunning too! She also appears to know a great deal about him, and shortly after, she makes a confession that causes Ichiro to think outside the boundaries of Earth.

On April 8, the TOKYO MX and BS11 channels hosted the anime's debut. In Japan, the anime is also available for streaming on U-NEXT, the d Anime Store, and other platforms. The anime is available on Crunchyroll as it airs in Japan, and on April 22 it also became available in an English dub.
A live-action television series that debuted on April 3 is also being inspired by the manga.

In Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine, Amagakure began the 12-volume Sweetness & Lightning (Amaama to Inazuma) manga in 2013, and it was finished in August 2018. Before beginning print publications, Kodansha Comics first started releasing the manga digitally in English. Although Crunchyroll no longer hosts catalog chapters, it used to post fresh chapters as Kodansha did in Japan. A 12-episode anime series based on the manga debuted in July 2016 and was available to view on Crunchyroll.
