CG animated movie Resident Evil: Death Island gets a manga adaptation

 Manga begins on Friday.

The new CG animated film in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil: Death Island (Japanese title: Biohazard: Death Island), will receive a manga adaptation on Kadokawa's Comic Hu section of the Nico Nico Seiga website on Friday, according to the official Resident Evil (Biohazard) Twitter account on Tuesday. The manga is being drawn by ZINO Kodakuji.

On July 7, the movie will premiere in Japan.

The movie is being released by Sony Pictures Entertainment outside of Japan, and it gives the following synopsis of the plot:
A mystery woman thwarts D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy's effort to free Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers. In the meantime, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is looking into a zombie epidemic in San Francisco, where the infection's origin is unknown. The victims' recent trips to Alcatraz Island are the only things they have in common. Chris and his colleagues travel to the island in search of that clue, where they discover a brand-new grotesquery.

The movie is being directed by Eiichir Hasumi (Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, live-action Assassination Classroom), while the screenplay is being written by Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass). Rei Kond (Resident Evil: Damnation), who is in charge of the movie's music, and CG director Tomohiro Shimizu are among the additional members of the cast that have been revealed.

The movie Resident Evil: Vendetta was released in theaters in the US and Canada in June 2017. Resident Evil: Death Island is the sequel to the movie. In May 2017, the movie made its Japanese theater debut. After Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) and Resident Evil: Damnation (2012), the movie is the third CG-animated installment in the Resident Evil franchise.
