Musawo, author of Love and Lies, releases a new manga

On June 9, the manga Kareshi Toki Doki Kanojo will debut.

The July issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shnen Magazine will debut Musawo's new manga, Kareshi Toki Doki Kanojo (My Boyfriend Sometimes is a Girlfriend), on June 9, according to the June issue.

Hodaka Akizuki, a 17-year-old high school student, is the main character of the romantic comedy manga. Hodaka falls in love with Chihaya Shishizaki, the school's madonna. Hodaka courageously confesses to Chihaya, and the two are now legally wed. But Hodaka genuinely conceals something from everyone, not even his girlfriend Chihaya.

In August 2014, Musawo released the manga Love and Lies (Koi to Uso) in both English and Japanese on DeNA's MangaBox app. Within a month, it had garnered 3.5 million views, making it the app's most popular work. With two distinct endings, the manga came to a close in its 12th collected book volume. In January 2022, the manga's final volume was released. The manga was released in English by Kodansha USA Publishing.
A television anime based on the manga debuted in Japan in July 2017. Anime Strike on Amazon Prime Video is where Sentai Filmworks broadcast the television anime in the United States, but it was also available on other digital platforms in "certain other countries."

The eighth compiled book volume of the manga was packaged with an original anime DVD (OAD) that debuted in November 2018.

In October 2017, a different live-action movie adaption debuted in Japan. The movie has original characters and a love triangle made up of one girl and two boys, in contrast to the manga, which centers on a love triangle made up of one boy and two girls.
